JENSEN HUGHES has an exciting opportunity for an Accessibility Consultant in Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area. This position can be based in Baltimore or in the DC area and is a newly created position. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accessibility consultant to grow their career and bring their consulting passion to a multi-disciplined engineering team and help grow the accessibility line of services. Engineers or Architects are encouraged to apply.
Primary Job duties will include:
Perform accessibility compliance reviews for the built environment on commercial and/or government projects
Conduct site visits and design reviews
Support associated consulting services such as fire protection, life safety, industrial safety and security
Collaborate with building owners, developers, architects, engineers, and customers on a variety of projects
Assists with developing new business
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
5-10 years of experience in Accessibility consulting
Current knowledge with applicable regulations pertaining to Americans with Disabilities (ADA), Fair Housing, ICC A117.1, International Building Code (IBC) Chapter 11
Excellent communication skills
Some travel required (20-25%)
