Custom residential/small commercial design studio in Alexandria seeking Project Architect/Designer for full-time salaried position.
Negotiable work hours per week: Full time position; Minimum of 30 hours a week.
Candidate must be an architectural graduate with 1-5 years experience in residential design. Candidate must be a "self-starter" and independently motivated to take ideas to the next level. Candidate must have strong design skills and ability to communicate ideas through hand drawings and model form. Candidate must be AutoCAD-proficient and have experience with the residential design process, construction details and construction documents, and building codes. Experience in small commercial (office interiors, restaurants, preschools, etc.) is a plus, but not necessary. Knowledge of DC permitting review process, and/or proficiency w/ 3D visualization software would all be a plus, but not required. Email cover letter and resume to be considered for the position. We are intentionally a “small-size” design firm with only a handful of designers and architects, allowing us to focus on details, remain accessible and accountable to our clients, and provide a hands-on approach through the entire design process.
Our firm focuses mainly on custom residential design work, comprising new homes, renovations, additions, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation projects. Our work includes both single-family and multi-family homes.
