Blackburn Architects seeks highly driven, passionate, and talented individuals who have completed their professional B.Arch or Master's degree in Architecture for a full-time position in our Washington, DC office.
Blackburn Architects specialize in equestrian projects, but we provide a range of services in the DC metro area including residential, historic restoration and adaptive re-use. The firm strives to be creative in its design philosophy as it produces architecture that is both aesthetically pleasing and respectful to its environment. Mid-level candidates will work closely with project managers in a team environment.
Works closely with senior staff supporting design and technical tasks
Assists with design development and construction document preparation
Supports the construction administration process
Revises drawings and renderings
Conducts research for the project team
Produces graphic presentations and builds study models
Performs calculations and basic analytical tasks
Organizes files, materials, and displays
Professional degree Bachelor's of Architecture or Master’s in Architecture from an accredited institution
3-5 years of experience minimum
Proficiency in ArchiCAD desired, at minimum experience with BIM software is necessary
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to diagram concepts and clearly sketch ideas
Excellent communication skills
Juggle short-term deadlines and long-term projects
