This position is located in the Space and Facilities Division (SFD), Facilities and Security Office (FSO). The incumbent of this position serves as an advisor working with court and SFD officials on space and facilities matters relating to government owned and leased buildings housing federal judiciary functions. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
Providing technical architectural and engineering assistance to courts for space and facilities project related matters;
Developing, coordinating, and overseeing execution of the architectural design, layout, alteration, and rehabilitation of federal courthouses and related buildings;
Monitoring projects for timelines, budgeting, scheduling, and compliance;
Reviewing design of private sector architects and consulting engineers for programmatic conformance and compliance;
Formulating and recommending space and facilities policies and guidelines for consideration by AO management and the Judicial Conference Committee;
Supporting the Judiciary's programs such as space reduction, service validation and Integrated Workplace Initiative;
Supporting analyses of occupancy agreements (OAs) for non-prospectus and prospectus level and lease-construct projects involving square footage assignments, rent and tenant improvement costs, and amortization terms;
Developing, reviewing, and editing agenda items for the biannual meetings of the Space and Facilities Committee of the Judicial Conference;
Developing and maintaining ongoing working relationships with the General Services Administration, the U.S. Marshals Service, project architects, Assistant Circuit Executives, and others;
Representing assigned projects in meetings, coordinating activities, ensuring consistency of efforts, consulting on issues, and ensuring conformance of activities with the overall missions and objectives of the Judiciary; and
Attending professional conferences, seminars and workshops and representing the Judiciary on interagency and other working groups in meetings.
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience as technical expert providing advice and guidance to management officials on architectural designs, layout and alteration. This includes experience analyzing and reviewing designs for conformance and compliance.
