The Facilities Planning Department for Baltimore City Public Schools is recruiting a Jr. Educational Facility Planner who will play a critical role in helping to plan buildings that foster great learning for decades to come.
Reviews/writes assigned program areas and collaborates with stakeholders to develop site-specific adaptations of district-wide educational specifications
Attends design meetings, reviews shop drawings, conducts site visits and provides input on specifications and projects
Compiles/manages project information, e.g. enrollment projections, net square footage, gross square footage, capacity model, site size, etc. for the assigned projects and other occupied campuses.
Assist with other planning related projects as assigned by the Director or the Sr. Educational Facility Planner.

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, urban/regional planning, education, or a related field and two years experience in architecture, planning or education or Master’s degree in architecture, urban/regional planning, education, or a related field and one year experience in architecture, planning or education.
Ability to read site and floor plans, construction documents, and maps.
Experience using GIS to run analyses
Demonstrated analytical, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to diverse audiences and work effectively with stakeholders.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to complete assignments on time and accurately
Proficiency in Microsoft, Adobe, Esri, and Autodesk products is desired.
