Ritter Norton Architects is seeking an experienced and technically knowledgeable architect with very strong technical and communication skills to manage multi-disciplinary project teams and work closely with clients and staff on complex commercial and institutional projects such as churches, libraries, and recreation centers. The Sr. Project Manager/Technical Director is a leader and mentor in the office helping guide the firm to provide great client service and produce exceptionally high quality construction documents on complex projects. He/she will also work closely with the firm principals on overall management and growth of the practice.

All employees wear a mask while working in the office. We are fully setup to work remotely and our flexible work policy allows people to work from home as necessary. New employees will be expected to work in the office at least part-time.

For this position it is essential that the candidate be:

  • A US Citizen
  • A Licensed architect with an architecture degree
  • Have 15+ years’ experience primarily with commercial and/or institutional projects 

A great candidate will also possess the following credentials: 

  • Be a thoughtful designer with a collaborative mindset
  • Very strong technical skills to oversee construction document production, complex detailing, and specification writing
  • Highly organized with a thorough understanding of all phases of project development
  • Adept at coordinating and managing diverse multi-disciplinary teams of consultants 
  • Able to handle working on multiple projects and managing multiple teams
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCad, MS Office suite
  • Familiar with Northern Virginia/DC/Maryland state and county codes
